Lily & I started our Jesse Tree on December 1st. There
is also a full Advent version of this that we may do next
year, but since I was unprepared for the start of advent,
we are using a guide that was prepared for just the month
of December. I am enjoying teaching Lily all about the Bible
and the history of Jesus and his ancestors.
Our first ornament was a tree to represent that Christ came
from the "stump of Jesse". Jesse was King David's father, and
as we know, Jesus was a descendant of King David.
Lily read I Samuel 16:1-13 from her Begin-to-Read Bible and
I read Isaiah 11:1,10 from my New American Bible.
